It's late, and i have reading to do. perfect setting for a xanga entry.

Oscars were last nite. Disappointly predictable. I hate when a movie is released right before the oscars, then comes in and takes all the big prizes. i'm sure clint and hilary and morgan deserve their awards, but i didnt have a chance to see that movie and i think there were other movies that deserved credit that didnt get it (aviator, finding neverland). i just dont feel like it has been out long enuf for enuf people to get out, see it, and be happy with the oscars. i feel kinda...cheated. poor Johnny is always overlooked. and Leo--def did just as well portraying Howard Hughes as Jamie Foxx did portraying Ray. The had different handicaps, and both actors handled them well. But because Ray Charles died this year, Jamie gets the oscar.

anyways, it definitely wasnt as exciting as last year's oscars, which ironically were deemed boring. at least there were big stars there. where was tom? nicole? mel? julia was out to present one award, but that was all i saw of her. they didnt do much cutting to actors and panning around the audience this year. disappointing. and it wasnt even just the stars missing, there was a lack of celebs in general. how bout the lotr guys? orlando was there, but anyone else? how bout tobey? didnt see him, and spiderman was even nominated for a few technical awards. brad pitt and jennifer aniston, even tho they're not together anymore, you'd think they'd be at the oscars.....ben affleck? matt damon? i didnt see jude law. julie andrews? gene hackman? robert deniro? you get the point. where the hell was everyone?

well i know where ben stiller was saturday....in the holiday inn at foglesville, where we were attending a charity auction ball! yes, we got our pic taken with ben stiller. it was so cool! christine taylor was there too, but she booked it outta there and we just caught ben. he was a really nice guy. they were just trying to leave and he kept stopping to take pics with this horde of girls that caught him in the hotel lobby. sweet. it was so weird, on the dance floor and ben stiller is like 3 feet away. surreal. but i dunno why he wasnt at the oscars last nite. or if he was and all those other people too, why wouldnt they show them at all? weird.

crazy weekend. i didnt get back to school from the charity thing till after 1, then i took a shower and finally went to bed round 2, then woke up a bit before 8 when tra realized her jewelry cleaner had fallen and spilled into her rubbermaid of shoes. (luckily, no shoes were harmed). had to get up anyways--horse show at delval. got there around 10 to find that they had started late (oh my what a shock--why i didnt go earlier) and they were only on the third class. sucky horses for me. i handled my pony well in the jumping class, but i guess the judge wasnt truly considering the difficulty of each horse (this pony, like they warned me, was a brat over the first line--but i made him do it and then we were fine). i didnt pin, out of 8 riders. so then my flat class. the horse i rode was in the class before mine as well. no one told the rider (or she just didnt ride him the way she was told) that he is mainly western pleasure and does not like people hanging on his mouth. she hung on his mouth, pulling him sharp and all. so he freaked out on her right before they lined up. well i get on him. they're like, oh you're western you know how to ride him, you'll be fine! well poor count was still freaked out from the girl before me. his trot got really fast, and when i asked him to canter he took off at a gallop, getting faster and faster every time i half-halted. finally stopped him by pointing his face in a wall. we change directions and go again. i ask him to trot, he takes off at a gallop again. all i could think was how the hell am i gonna slow down this horse if i cant pull on his mouth? i'm sitting back far as i can, trying to check and release, and getting nothing but more speed. i think, this is sorta what happened with gem 2 weeks ago when i fell, should i just jump off? no cuz he's going pretty fast and i dont wanna hurt myself. plus i was sitting pretty firmly on him, i didnt feel like i was ready to fall. so i get his face into the wall again and he stops. thank god. i slide down and rub him, trying to calm him down. the poor guy was so freaked out, breathing heavy and shaking. as i was leading him out they led another horse in and we redid the class. well the new horse i got didnt want to pick up his lead in the one direction no matter how i asked him. so we cantered on the wrong lead for a while. so i pinned last. wonderful day, just wonderful. plus it was my last show of the season. next week's is the same day as Grace's baptism, which i'm totally going to, and the one after that is the day of my mom's st. patrick's day party. definitely going to that! (especially after last year's, er, incident... ) so no more shows for me till fall. riding lesson tomorrow tho, should be fun. maybe i'll do some western.

snowstorm today. will we have class tomorrow? oh definitely.

The girls have a surprise for me. I won't lie, I'm a little scared. They're all down the hall, "putting it together." I dunno, they had wacky-Wednesdayish stuff out at brunch, and Tra walks back with a box real excited. I'm nervous.

Anyways, yesterday was the mini-blizzard of 05. We have probly over a foot of snow. Of course it has to come on a freakin' Saturday, when it won't interfere with classes but only with weekend plans (i.e. Dan )

Going to shower now, more later. Tra just spilled soda. oy.

i <3 the 90's part deux. i really do.

i've now been to each of my classes once. today i dropped 85.75 on one book. and it's not even like a big hardback book. oh no. it's a dinky paperback. splendid. that was like half of the money i had from book buy-back last semester. at least i dont even need a book for my one class, and my sociology class only requires some novels that i'm sure i can get from amazon.com used for cheap. none of my classes seem really hard. of course, i say that with every intention of keeping up with the readings, going to every class, listening attentively, and contributing to discussions. let's see how it goes next week.

finally snowed today. i hate when it's cold for no reason. if it's gonna be cold, i wanna see some pretty snow. i just hope the roads are clear tomorrow, cuz i gotta dash home after my last class to get bloodwork done before the place closes. could be dangerous if the new little car slips in the snow.

there's a job open at limerick elementary tomorrow for a playground assistant. ha. yeah right. i know by now that "playground assistant" actually = "lunchroom duty"!! so i'm choosing to ignore it in the hopes that something better will pop up. it'll be my last day subbing for a long time, i dont want to pull lunchroom duty. ugh.

1 more day till i get to ride BEN!!! i'm so inconcievably excited. i havent seen him since like, before i went to school! i can't wait!

note: in the 5 minutes it took me to write this, that job for tomorrow has stayed available--usually jobs are gone within seconds. apparently i'm not the only one who doesnt wanna be stuck in the lunchroom with sticky little kids!

i hate them. why do i get sucked in. well, i did manage to snag a job for tomorrow, thanks to dearest Dan. ugh, elementary school. i hope i get high school sometime this week. so much easier. i had to pull lunchroom duty again today. freakin' little kids. i had 2 ask me if they were allowed to get snack, cuz they couldn't remember if their mothers said they could...like how am i supposed to know? onegirl raises her hand, i walk all the way across the cafe, she points to the girl next to her and says, "she's my friend." that's wonderful. very nice. another hand goes up. little boy says, "he gave me bunny ears..." kids are so petty. can you imagine the biggest drama in your life being another kid giving you bunny ears?? i mean, they're cute kids, but when your back is killing ya from 3 hours of standing, and your ears are ringing from all the noise....ugh. however i did see a little boy that looked exactly like the kid from jerry maguire. that was cool. and at least it wasnt pancake and french toast sticks day, so i didnt have a million requests to open sticky syrup packs. ewww.

off to bed. elementary school tomorrow. joyous rapture fills my bosom. at least i'm going to see Dan tomorrow night!

I must begin this entry with a hearty apology to my adoring fans, who have been clammoring for me to update for so long. geezuz guys, have you not got anything better to do??? let me assure you, i'll be back at school in a week and the daily entries will continue then.

anyways, i did write not that long ago, but as i finished my lengthy entry, internet explorer suddenly said fuck you and closed out on me. pissed off, i did not go back into xanga to rewrite the whole thing, and i am just now getting over it since i have consequently forgotten entirely what that entry was about. and now i sit and type again.

one week to go till we're all back at good ol' ambler, submerged again in a plethora of classes that college says are necessary for success after graduation. i think i heard a load of crap like that during high school too.... i ask you, will i ever say, oh, i learned that in my IH class, i'm so glad because it has definitely aided me in my life! i think not. whatever, at least i can get into more journalism classes after this semester. fun ones too, not just the crappy, oh the television was invented in....kinda classes. blah. oh, and come this May, come what may.....ROME!! yes, that is what i most look forward to about this semester--the end of it. true, i guess you could say that about any semester, but after this one i will be boarding a plane to take me away to Italy, where i'll spend 6 weeks drinking wine and visiting old rocks and loving every minute of it!!

back to my reality for a bit now. a new extreme makeover home edition starts in 20 min, followed by a new desperate housewives which i'll be taping, cuz i will be watching at that time the season premiere of 24. oh yeah, it's gonna be a good nite.

we put all the rest of the christmas decor away today. the tree went outside, the lights came down, the wreaths fell to the ground...sigh, it's over. but that means we can start looking forward to spring, and flowers, and green grass, and warm weather...i'm sick of winter. it hasnt even been that cold, it's just been so dreary. ugh. kirby was devastated when the tree went out. he loves the christmas tree. he layed under it as we unscrewed the stand and lifted it out. sad little cat. but then he was distracted by the tree lights lying on the ground, which we turned on for him. i think he's over it now.

i finally covered the green hand grenade painted on the back bumper of my car. my mom had a bumper sticker from The Black Dog store in martha's vineyard that she's never used, so i stuck it on top of the grenade. much better. minnie mouse is on the antenna too. it's coming along. now if we could just figure out why the gas pedal gets stuck after the car's been sitting for a few hours....

exciting news: harry potter and the half-blood prince, the 6th book in the series, comes out july 16th!!!! about 2 weeks after i get back from italy. perfect! i cant wait, i'm currently re-reading the 5th one so i'm refreshed on all the goings-on at hogwarts. hehe.

well, i must be off, gotta go claim the tv for the next 2 hours. i hope this is utd enuf for everyone.

OH YES. since i have assented so much credit to everyone else for gifts and whatnot, i must say that I deserve total credit for dan's bday gift. all by myself, i went to a sports store and, from the thousands of different options, picked out a black donovan mcnabb eagles jersey, which he absolutely loved. yes, i am proud of myself for that one. that was ME. all credit goes to ME.

ah yes, another not-so-productive day has gone by. slept till 11 (eek), went to the bank, and updated my Broadway scrapbook. that's about it so far. i was really far behind. i had to put in the last performance of Aida and our trip to see Fiddler. now i gotta take adam to TKD in like 20 minutes, then dan's coming over and we're harry potterizing him. should be a good time.

Christmas was great--got bunches of stuff that i really wanted, including a bread machine! is it sad that i really wanted a bread machine for christmas? now i can make gluten-free bread so i can eat gluten-free peanut butter and jelly sandwiches! i wish i could bring it to school. hmm....i dont think they say anything about bread machines, lol. also got cranium, so that'll be tons of fun at school. of course, my best present is the diamond-sapphire horseshoe necklace from dan. he def knows how to treat a girl. we went to nyc on monday. freeezing cold, but i still had a great time. we saw the tree and the skaters, took a carriage ride thru central park, and ate at the jekyll and hyde club. that was a good time. i told one of the characters that dan had monster feet, and i'm still hearing about it. haha. it was funny tho. it's great fun to play along with those guys, some of them dont know what to do when you start going along with them. hehehe. oh, i also saw the theatre where Spamalot will be playing beginning march 17th. the theatre's all decorated already outside with holy grail icons, such as the black knight and the killer rabbit. it should be a funny show.

so for new year's eve me, mom, adam, mike and dan are all going to penn's landing in philly for ice skating and watching fireworks. it's gonna be damn cold. but it should be a lotta fun. hope everyone else has a great new year's!

no work today! whoo-hoo! yeah, i do need the money, but i wont lie and say i wasn't happy when the phone didnt ring at 5:30 this morning. i've been so tired from staying up past 12 to get jobs once they're posted (which people never seem to do till after 12) and then getting up at like 6:30 am to go to work. ah well, there'll be more jobs after new year's. i got till the end of january to work. so today i plan to finish wrapping, make my gluten-free chocolate chip cookies, and possibly do some cleaning for my mom. i still gotta finish my room up. but now there's presents all over the floor, so i dunno if i'll get to that. it would help if i could get off the comp and actually start doing stuff, esp since i slept till like 10. the day is half gone. i think i'm gonna jam to some Aida and get to work. 3 days till Christmas!! and new york next week!!!!
